Refusal Based on Immigration Status

The general rule is to apply from country of citizenship but there are many international student not living in their country of citizenship for different reasons such as study, work, etc,…  in this training you are going to learn what you need to consider if you are applying form a country which is not your country of residency. Not having a valid status or having a status that will be expiring soon will affect your application and may result in a rejection.  If your study permit application has been refused due to your immigration status you will receive this clause at your refusal letter “I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216 (1) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.
